So, I flew back here to SK yesterday. I had to stop in Edmonton and connect to another flight. And the draft I felt when I got off the plane sent a chill right through me. It was -18 with the windchill. It was +18 in Vancouver the other day. That sucks. And I can’t believe all of the snow and wind. It’s amazing how quickly I’ve forgotten what March is supposed to feel like. Good thing I brought my scarf and boots with me.
Ah, it’s so nice to be home again. I’ve spent the past 2 days listening to kids sing at our local music festival, and it’s been nice to catch up with my former voice teacher and other people I know from the festival. Unfortunately my sister, Michelle, got sick and couldn’t sing her last piece tonight. But she was a trooper and did the trio she was supposed to – so she gets extra points for that. It felt very weird to be watching music festival as opposed to participating in it. I honestly wanted to get up there and sing. But I didn’t. I helped move a bench instead. That was my time in the spotlight.
Still waiting to hear about the summer opera cast. I hope I get a good part. We’ll see…
