I don’t remember the last time I saw the sun. This is no good, obviously. It’s been cloudy and cool, but today was just horrible. It poured so hard today that I couldn’t see the downtown 50 story condominums from my window, like I usually can. This, too, is not good. That’s a lot of rain. Luckily, cousin Heidi stayed over last night and said she’d drive me to school. My hair was saved for a good 3 hours. And then, it went curly with the humidity.
So, I practiced quite hard today. I’ve decided to start learning “Una voce poco fa” from The Barber of Seville. It’s one of the more famous opera arias out there, and since I’ve almost had enough of “Faust”, I thought I’d learn something completely different. It didn’t go too badly today. Not bad for a first day’s practice.
And I taught today, too. Just like every other Thursday. I bonded with one of my kids today, which was great. He’s one of the ones that I just hadn’t made an “in” with, yet, and today I finally made an “in”. Those are good days.
Other than that, I’ve been freaking out about my scene, practicing, teaching, and continuing that cycle all week. I can’t believe that it’s already November and that my Mom will be here next week. How time flies…
