A blasé day…

Hey – that rhymes!

I had a voice lesson. Got some recital details figured out. Came home. Shredded old bank statements. More odd and ends. Caught up on my e-mailing. Well, sort of… Started and finished reading chapters 1-3 for our Prayer Club tonight. Picked up my books at the library. Found out that through my Rogers Wireless account I can get Macleans for $2 a month. Even better – Chatelain and Lou Lou for $1 per month – each. Actually turned on the TV – that hasn’t happened for awhile. Watched the last half of The Hour and remembered that it’s a decent show. Watched the first part of The National. Haven’t done that in a month. And watched the Wild go up 3-2 on the Leafs. Stopped watching TV out of frustration and started writing here.

George S. from The Hour made an interesting comparison today. He said that the Conservatives are like fast food. They’re bad for you; at least, that’s what the experts say. So, what do they do? They improve themselves, offering more options, “healthier” choices. But, they’re still serving fries along with the garden salad you’ve chosen. Hence, the Conservatives are still the same old anti-progressive people under more moderate guises. Interesting? I think so…

The CFL actually has a salary cap. I never thought the day would come. I honestly thought they’d expand into the States again before having a salary cap. I was reading the new rules, and Mr. Wright is pretty serious about this stuff. Amen. It’s about time we had a commissioner who told the governors who’s boss. Montreal and B.C. (Edmonton, Toronto, and over the last year, Hamilton) have ruled this league far too long. Put your money in your pockets, boys. Adding more players to the roster is a good move, too. Why not? Mr. Wright – may you stay around forever!

If you’re still waiting for my “Brokeback Mountain” review, sorry to disappoint you. I’m not sure you’ll ever get one out of me. What I’ll say is this: it didn’t move me as much as I thought it would. I’m not sure why. about half way through I wanted it to be over. For me is just went in circles after awhile. I don’t know. I’m just going to leave it at that.

As for the Golden Globes: yeah, Felicity Huffman! The woman is so talented. Does anybody remember the old show, “Sports Night”? That show was fantastic. Unfortunately, ratings sell, not quality programming. She’s by far the most talented out of all those Housewives. And double yeah to Mary Louise Parker for beating all of the Housewives. I am so tired of hearing about that show. I definitely have to go see “Walk the Line” now. I wanted to before, but now I HAVE to. My list of movies to see is ridiculously long.

What is it with people walking in front of buses? On the way home from teaching, a guy ran right in front of the bus. And of course, the bus drivier honked. And the guy gave the bus driver the finger. Okay…

I actually went for my morning walk today, much to my surprise. All of a sudden I was out the door and on my way. I must say, I feel pretty cool walking around with my I-Tunes phone, or, ahem, my…ROKR. My quality of life has tripled since I bought that thing.

Enough of my rambling. There must be something productive I can do in the next 15 minutes before Prayer Club…
