Whoa…

Barry Bonds does not make an attractive woman…

Today is Fat Tuesday. Or Mari Gras. Or Shrove Tuesday. And tomorrow is Ash Wednesday, or March 1st, or the beginning of Lent.

Now, I normally don’t follow liturgical seasons. It’s not the Seventh-Day Adventist way. Part of that “be in the world, but not of it” stuff. But something in me wanted to try it.

It’s not that I’m not familiar with it. I have been an organist, pianist and chorister in many a Luther or Anglican church in my day, and currently escort one of my disabled adults to an Anglican church on Sunday mornings.

So, what am I giving up for Lent? Junk food. Chips, popcorn, chocolate. No more Mini-Eggs for this chick. It hurts me to do this. But it will be beneficial – both for my body and mind. As well as my spiritual life. At least – that’s what I’m going to keep telling myself…

I miss the Olympics…

To all Olympic NHLers: Yes, you were in the Olympics. And yes, now you have a heavy March schedule. You have to play 25 or 16 games this month. Boo freaking hoo. Suck it up, princesses. There are lots of guys behind you who would have played ever day to get on an Olympic team.

Goodbye, Paul McCallum. You were a good man. Enjoy it out here.

To the Riders: What is wrong with you guys? You haven’t signed one free agent. Ack!

Um, what else? Oh yeah. The world is going backwards. South Dakota just instituted a ban on abortion.

My Leafs did not look good tonight. Again. What else is new?

Wayne Gretzky looks like he’s aged 10 yeras in the past year. Wayne – you need a break.

I said that Brent Sutter should have coached the men’s hockey team at the Olympics. And a report in the Calgary Sun says Kevin Lowe may take over the reigns of Team Canada from Gretzky, and his top two choices for coaches: Darryl Sutter and Brent Sutter…

I tried to sing today after not singing for almost 3 weeks. That sore throat/chest cold I had was wicked. Let’s just say today was a little rough and I packed it in early…

Well, I should go read my Olympics issues of Maclean’s. I can read more about Cindy Klassen and – Stephen Harper? Okay… But I have other things I should be doing…

Why didn’t I ever read that Procrastinator’s Handbook?
