It’s all about location, location, location…

I’m coming home, sweet home.
Who knew this hole inside my heart would heal inside this door.
I’m coming home, been too long from home.
Home to heal. Home to grow.
I’m coming home…
Guess what gang?
I’ll be back in Saskatchewan in about a month. And I’m staying.
You’re probably going, “WHAT?!?!?!”
I’m still going to study History and Political Science (oops – it’s called Political Studies now…), but I’m going to do it at the U of S. Yes, I know. I’m becoming a traitor to my U of R friends.
I just got my acceptance letter on Monday, so I now need to register and yadda yadda yadda.
Why the change in location?
It’s time.
In the weeks following my recital I became very antsy to get out of here. And the more I thought about staying out here, the more I wanted to leave. It became clear that I was done out here. I’d come and accomplished what I’d wanted to, and now it was time to go.
So, that’s that. I’m moving back. And I wish it was today.
This place just sucks the energy right out of me. I have no passion for it. It’s beautiful, and I will miss walking along the ocean and the lack of insect wildlife, but behind that thin veneer is nothing that would hold me here.
My family is in Saskatchewan, my friends are in Saskatchewan. My heart is in Saskatchewan. It’s home.
Living in Saskatoon will be a new experience for me because I’ve never actually lived there, and I haven’t been this close to home in 6 years. But I’m looking forward to it. I have a lot of relationships to renew.
So the countdown begins. In about a month I’ll be out of here and back on the prairie where I belong.
It can’t come too soon…

  2. Rats! I just missed you. But now I’ll know where to find you next summer. We’ll have to go out to the Saigon or something; it would be great to catch up. God bless you with your new plans!
