Snowbound – again…

Actually, more like ‘cold-bound’. I just didn’t feel like going outside today, so I didn’t. The police urged people to stay home if they didn’t really need to be anywhere this morning, and I was more than happy to be a good citizen and stay put. Yet another day passed where I didn’t do so much as eat. I had some cereal, some crackers, and that’s about it. I will finally admit it: I hate cooking. It’s a pain. The less work involved in cooking a meal, the better. And when I’m home for extended periods of time, I find I hardly eat at all. If you don’t move, how can you work up an appetite? So I really did nothing today – again.

If you like Canadiana, you should check out Will Ferguson’s latest book, “Beauty Tips from Moose Jaw.” Sometimes Ferguson’s humor is forced and contrived, and sometimes you can see the joke coming chapters before you get there, but his ability to weave history and the present is second to none. There are so many neat little vingettes from Canada’s history that are placed throughout the book that you feel as if you’re exploring another country. It only makes me want to explore this great country of ours. Road trip anyone?

Well, I’m going to update my other pages because it’s been far too long since I last did. After that, I’m going to watch The Daily Show to get Jon Stewart’s take on last night’s Address to the Nation by President Bush. I started watching CNN this morning, but got bored very quickly. Unless Anderson Cooper is on the air, I find it hard to care.

I hope you all survived the blizzard and that you stay warm the next couple of days. I love Saskatchewan – no sarcasm intended.

How do you find time to do all of this non-academic reading? There are so many books I want to read, but I don’t have the time. I quite jealous right now

Nicole, very sorry to hear about your Grandpa. I know how tough it is to lose someone you love. Take care and keep strong (playing in this fresh snow may help).
